Mark a location permanently closed
When one of your locations permanently closes, mark it as permanently closed on Google to keep your customers up-to-date.
Mark multiple locations permanently closed
To mark multiple locations permanently closed:
- Sign in to Google My Business.
- From list view, select the locations you want to mark permanently closed. If you’re viewing your locations as cards instead of a list, switch to list view by clicking the list icon on the right side above your locations.
- In the top-right corner of the page, click the three dot menu icon .
- Click Mark as permanently closed.
- In the dialog that appears, click Mark as permanently closed.
The locations will appear as permanently closed in your account and to users across Google. Multiple locations cannot be marked as permanently closed via spreadsheet.
Confirm that a location is closed
If Google receives updates indicating a location has permanently closed, you may be asked to confirm this information.
To confirm a location is permanently closed:
- Sign in to Google My Business.
- Click Reported as permanently closed at the top of your screen.
- Click Confirm closed on the right side of the location. It will now show as permanently closed in your account and to users across Google.
When viewing a single location, you may see the following notifications:
- Reported as open: “This location was previously marked permanently closed but is shown as open due to updates we’ve received”
- Reported as closed: “This location was previously marked as open but is shown as permanently closed due to updates we've received”
Click Review, then confirm the status of your location in the window that appears.
